Horn Section

About Loose Wind Horns

The name of the production company originates from the nickname given to the horn section whilst working with Peter Conway, Loose Wind Horns. The name stuck, and came to represent the ethos we look for in all of our work, i.e. loose vibe coupled with killer technique. We work with a pool of brass players all based in and around London, to tailor a brass section or horn section specifically to your needs.

Who We’ve Worked With

Our regular London horn section musicians have worked with the likes of We Are Augustines, Tom Jones, Jessie J, Stooshe, Ben Taylor, Peter Conway , Preeya Kalidas, Filly, The Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo, DJ Yoda, Estelle, TM Juke v Jack Baker Trio, The Who, Mcfly, Alice Russell, Bat For Lashes, Jools Holland, Noah And The Whale. Our musicians have played at all the major festivals around the world, and venues such The Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace and the O2.

How It Works

We can work in a number of different ways when it comes to live horn section work, for studio work flows see here:

Pre Arranged: Often we will be sent the released / demo tracks for a band in advance, and are asked to simply add tasteful horns to the arrangement for live gigs / tours. We would normally expect a rehearsal before any gigs, though are able to do last minute work too, providing we are familiar with the arrangements of the songs and what will be expected from us.

Jam Session Vibe: We are also more than happy just rocking up to a rehearsal and going with the flow to add horns to your live show. Though this can sometimes take a little longer, some bands prefer this more organic approach as they can guide the writing process, and have more control on the final sound.
